The Finnish Competition Authority has approved a business arrangement whereby Metsä Group will integrate the maintenance operations of its plywood and Kerto LVL mills in Finland into its own organisation as of 1 October 2024.

Metsä Group has decided to conduct, in parallel with the demo phase, a pre-engineering project related to a possible first commercial-scale factory.
The disruption, attributed to the damage at the evaporation plant, is anticipated to extend Metsä Board's production halt for an estimated 10–12 weeks.
