Siberian International Forestry Forum will be first held September 10–13, 2013 in Novosibirsk, alongside with the exhibition TEKHNODREV Siberia
February 20, 2013 – September 10-13, 2013, in Novosibirsk exhibition complex Novosibirsk Expocentre the Siberian International Forestry Forum will take place for the first time - the largest professional forestry event of the Siberian Federal District. Main topic of the Forum: Siberian forestry development strategy
Forum is supported by: The Government of the Novosibirsk Region, Interregional Association of the Economic Cooperation of the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation "Siberian Accord", Forestry Department for the Siberian Federal District, and RAO Bumprom.
As conceived by organizers, the Siberian International Forestry Forum will become the largest international gathering of forestry experts. The Forum will provide a common information space where professionals will talk to professionals about strategies and practical tools for business development. The Forum offers participants a unique opportunity to not only see the trends affecting forest business, but also learn how to use those trends to their advantage. Structure of the Forum events integrates congress, exhibition and business programs. Thus, participation in the Forum events is attractive for representatives of business and industry research in all forestry areas, as well as industries that are technologically connected with forestry production cycle.
September 10, 2013, the Siberian International Forestry Forum will open a plenary session "Analysis of the state of Russian economy and its effect on the forestry in Siberia." During the session, representatives of the authorities, the leading Russian branch associations, experts from forestry and financial corporations will discuss the State Forestry Development Program until 2020, and give their opinions on such issues as strategic direction of forestry in Siberia, improvement of investment attractiveness of the region, increasing the competitiveness of forestry companies in Siberia, etc.
Russia has introduced a new set of requirements for timber harvesting. Key changes in the Rules for timber harvesting, requirements to storage and export of timber, biodiversity conservation, logging advanced technology and many other questions will be discussed at the session "Forest harvesting in the Siberian Federal District. Problems and solutions."
Topical issues of forest management are proposed to be discussed in the session "Development of sustainable intensive forest management in Siberia. Pro et contra." Topics for discussion include: regional differences in forest management, preconditions for transition to intensive forest management in Siberia, wood raw material plantations as a timber source for the forestry, forest use intensification, and biodiversity conservation.
Sawmilling as one of the most profitable types of business in Siberia. Russia is the biggest forest supplier to China and Europe. Domestic lumber products are used in manufacture of high-end furniture, interior finishing and cottage construction. During the session "Sawmilling in Siberia. Equipment and technology for sawmills and woodworking enterprises" participants are invited to exchange views, learn about new sawmill equipment, sales markets, problems of raw material supply for production and approaches to solve the problems.
Is it possible to meet the demand in high quality Russian materials? You will be able to learn this if you take part in the session "Woodworking in Siberia. Manufacture of wood boards: technological aspects", and discuss market trends of the wood board industry, the ability to reduce operating costs and improve environmental safety, as well as learn about the new generation of wood board materials, innovative technologies and equipment.
Program of the session "Bioenergy potential of the Siberian Federal District" will offer experts a discussion of present day situation and trends of bioenergy development in Siberia: figures, facts, expert opinions, wood fuel resources for heat production, problems of low-grade raw materials and waste, upgrading of bioenergy by using modern technology.
Virtually no problem that limits the competitiveness of Russian forestry today can be solved without extensive investment. The program of the Siberian International Forestry Forum for the round table "Investment attractiveness of Siberia. Raising finance to forestry projects" will include the analysis of the investment climate in the region and address the issues, including: the main investment projects been implemented and proposed for implementation, support tools to increase the investment attractiveness, additional government support for forestry projects under construction.
The business program of the Forum includes the discussions "WTO. Implications for forestry enterprises" and "Career in the forest industry: opportunities, conditions and prospects."
