Akeb AS is run by Anne Karin Beheim, originally from Molde, who has long been interested in handicrafts. She acquired her first loom at about age 14–15 and bought a sewing machine when she attended a three-year craft school (one year sewing, one year weaving, one year design). After marrying she moved to Drammen; as a homemaker with three children she regularly used a loom, a sewing machine and a knitting machine. In 2024 she is 76 and retired, and the business has relocated to Sande. Akeb AS has sold knitting machines, sewing machines, an Elna press, looms, yarn and sewing accessories. The company previously operated premises at various locations in Drammen and at times had shop assistance. Following an inventory and cleanup, Akeb AS launched a new website to offer items remaining from the shop period and some newly produced pieces.
