Huhtamaki to sell Mexican molded fiber unit

Mar 27, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Huhtamaki Oyj has closed the sale of its Mexican subsidiary, Huhtamaki Packaging Mexicana S.A. de C.V., to Ematec II S. de R. L. de C.V. and Empaques Moldeados de America Technologias, S. de R. L.de C.V. based in Cuernavaca. Huhtamaki Packaging Mexicana S.A. de C.V. has annual net sales of Euro 12 million and currently employs approximately 100 people. This transaction follows Huhtamaki’s strategy to concentrate in North America on foodservice and retail molded fiber markets. Huhtamaki Group is a leading manufacturer of consumer and specialty packaging with 2005 net sales exceeding Euro 2.2 billion. Consumer goods and foodservice markets are served by almost 15 000 employees in approximately 70 manufacturing and sales units in more than 30 countries worldwide.
