84 Lumber hires John Hathaway as Vice President of Real Estate and Development

84 Lumber appoints John Hathaway as Vice President of Real Estate and Development. In his role, Hathaway will be responsible for overseeing 84 Lumber’s extensive development strategies, including new market development, new store construction and redevelopment and expansion in existing markets, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Hathaway’s appointment comes on the heels of 84 Lumber’s announcement in March that it has established a new office in Phoenix and plans to nearly double its footprint in the western United States, where the company already operates 19 stores across Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas.

“John is filling a critical role for us, as we look toward the development of more than a dozen new stores over the next 18 months in markets like Boston, Seattle, Salt Lake City, and Boise,” said 84 Lumber Owner and President Maggie Hardy Magerko.

Hathaway most recently was Vice President of Real Estate and Construction for Hanger, Inc., a medical device company, where he managed a portfolio of 1,200 leased and owned properties across the United States. Prior to that, Hathaway served as Vice President of Real Estate at Cinemark International, leading Cinemark’s expansion throughout South America, Asia and Europe.

Founded in 1956, 84 Lumber Company is the nation’s leading privately held supplier of building materials, manufactured components, and industry-leading services for single- and multi-family residences and commercial buildings.
