Cartons collected via the service will continue to be recycled at ACE UK’s carton recycling facility in Stainland, West Yorkshire and Printwaste will use the same bins and vehicles as before, so local authorities and other participating organisations will receive a smooth transition to the new contractor.
Commenting on the contract award, Fay Dashper, Senior Recycling Manager at ACE UK said: “We have been working with Printwaste on other areas of our business for nearly a decade and have built up an excellent working relationship with the company.”
The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE) UK provides a platform for the industry to profile and benchmark cartons as a renewable, recyclable and low carbon packaging choice, and to drive its environmental initiatives. This includes running the industry’s carton recycling programme.
