Brazil's furniture imports down 14% in January- September

From January to September 2017 Brazil's furniture exports amounted to $456.9 million against $432.1 million in 2016, as ITTO reported.

Looking ahead, the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade expects total exports for 2017 to be around $660 million. Brazilian contribution to the global furniture trade of about $270 billion is around 0.25%.

The trade balance in the furniture sector continues positive as imports have been falling reflecting the state of the economy. Between January and September 2017 furniture imports totalled $398 million, down 14% year-on-year.
