Sep 03, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. In July 2015, exports of wood-based products (except pulp and paper) from Brazil rose 3.7% in value to $237.4 million compared to $228.9 million in July 2014, ITTO reports.

Pine sawnwood export values increased almost 33% between July 2014 ($20.8 million) and July 2015 ($27.6 million). In terms of volume, exports increased 40% over the same period (from 88,600 cubic metres to 124,000 cubic metres).

On the other hand, tropical sawnwood exports fell marginally from 27,300 cubic metres in July 2014 to 27,100 cubic metres in July 2015 (from $14.8 million in July 2104 to $13.6 million this July)

Brazil’s pine plywood exports fell around 4% in value in
July 2015 compared with a yeat earlier despite an increase in the volume of exports (from 96,000 cubic metres in July 2014 to 102,900 cubic metres this July).

Tropical plywood are now very small but in July the volume of tropical plywood exports rose from 3,800 cubic metres in July 2014 to 9,700 cubic metres this year.

Weak regional demand for wooden furniture drove down July export values from $41.8 million in July 2014 to $38.4 million this year, a 8% decline.
