Lumber production by Canada's sawmills rose 8.4% from July to 5 746.1 thousand cubic metres in August 2016. Production was 8.7% higher than August 2015, Statistics Canada reported.
Sawmills shipped 5 729.8 thousand cubic metres of lumber in August, up 4.1% from July. Shipments were 10.8% higher compared with August 2015.
