Edelmann Group reported turnover up 4.4% to Euro 188 million in 2010

Mar 17, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. Edelmann Group finished the 2010 financial year with turnover growth of 4.4%. At Euro 188 million turnover once again reached the high level of 2008, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. “The 2010 financial year was a challenge”, summed up Dierk Schroder, the spokesman of Edelmann management. “Against the background of clearly rising prices in the procurement markets, we were able to exploit our process and market expertise to the full.” The group generated about 60% of its turnover in the health care segment, where it is the German market leader. The second core area of beauty care, in which Edelmann is likewise among the leading providers, accounted for 40 of turnover. All in all, last year the 1,500 employees of the Edelmann Group produced 3.5 billion packages and leaflets. Last year the leading supplier of high quality and innovative cardboard packaging solutions relied above all on international expansion and expanding system selling. This is shown by the modernisation and expansion of the location in Pruszkow near Warsaw and the majority holdings in the second biggest Hungarian packaging manufacturer Zalai Nyomda in Zalaegerszeg and the Lindau printing company Eschbaumer in Germany. The latter will significantly increase Edelmann’s turnover volume in the leaflet segment and as a result do justice to the growing demand for system solutions in the health care and beauty care markets. In the coming financial year an important focus of investment will be on the expansion of technological expertise and international locations in growth regions, such as Mexico, alongside the reinforcement of system selling, the company said. Edelmann also intends to secure its leading position technologically with an investment volume of Euro 15 million. Innovations are to be expected in particular in system selling, which means new solutions for leaflets and outserts, due to new EU conditions for the improved legibility of leaflets. Schroder sees continued positive developments for the 2011 financial year. Thanks to the latest group acquisitions, the group is planning an increase in turnover to Euro 230million. Important inspiration is also expected from participation in the interpack fair, which will take place in Dusseldorf in May. The international packaging industry has been getting together here every three years for over 50 years. The Edelmann Group develops and produces folding cartons, system solutions and leaflets for the health care and beauty care market at twelve locations in Germany, Poland, Hungary, Mexico and China.
