Empresas CMPC reported 1% drop in 1Q revenues

Jun 03, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Empresas CMPC reported 1Q revenues of $1,164 million, 3% and 1% lower in comparison to 4Q 2014 and 1Q 2014, respectively. The year-over-year decrease is mainly due to a decline in volumes of the Pulp and Paper divisions, as well as lower prices in the Paper and Tissue divisions. These effects were partially offset by higher volumes in the Forestry and Tissue divisions and higher prices in the Forestry and Pulp divisions, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

1Q EBITDA totaled $239 million, stable compared to 4Q 2014 and down 4% from 1Q 2014. The year-over-year decrease is the result of lower EBITDA in the Forestry, Pulp and Paper divisions, partially offset by the increase in EBITDA of the Tissue division.

1Q net loss was $77 million, compared to a net income of $38 million in 4Q 2014 and a net income of $46 million in 1Q 2014. Net income for the quarter excluding the impact of currency movement on Deferred taxes would have been $79 million compared to $122 million in 4Q 2014.

Empresas CMPC produces forestry, pulp, paper, tissue and packaging products throughout Latin America.
