Evergreen Packaging launches new Renewable Plus Cartons

Evergreen Packaging launches a Fully Renewable Carton, part of their Renewable Plus Carton line featuring sugarcane-based polyethylene, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Part of the Evergreen Packaging family of FreshHouse™ Cartons, the new Renewable Plus Cartons underscore the company’s commitment to developing sustainable packaging solutions from renewable materials.

The Renewable Plus Carton is available in all board grades and all sizes of the FreshHouseTM line of cartons. Made from responsibly sourced fiber, FreshHouse™ cartons are made from a renewable material, paper from trees grown in forests where responsible management practices are used and where overall growth exceeds use. Renewable fiber from trees plus renewable polyethylene from sugarcane results in a paper carton that is fully renewable. In addition, more than 50% of the energy used to manufacture cartons is biomass, a renewable energy source derived from wood byproducts. The cartons are also recyclable.

Evergreen Packaging is a global leader in the manufacturing of refrigerated paper cartons.
