Apr 25, 2011. /Lesprom Network/. Ilim Timber appointed Alexander Sovetnikov as CEO. His major task on the position of Ilim Timber CEO is implementation of the development strategy and management of the holding operating activities, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. Alexander Sovetnikov joined Ilim Timber team in January 2010 as the Managing Director for Production & Investments. Prior to his appointment to Ilim Timber Mr. Sovetnikov was a managing director of Sveza-Les. From 2002 to 2008 Mr. Sovetnikov headed Ust-Izhora Plywood Mill, from 1990 to 2002 – Kostroma Mechanical Plant. From 1979 to 1990 Mr. Sovetnikov worked for Baku Aggregate Plant where he started as a shift boss and finished as a chief engineer. Ilim Timber’s production facilities are located in Russia, Germany and USA. The company has offices in EC and China. The company’s products are sold in the domestic market, Europe, Middle East and North Africa, Asia and China. The total annual production output amounts to 3,9 million cubic metres of sawn timber and 150,000 cubic metres of plywood. The company is Russia’s major exporter of sawn timber to China. Ilim Timber was established in 2007 on the basis of woodworking assets of Ilim Pulp corporation. In 2010 it bought from Klausner group two sawmills in Germany, in 2011 acquired Tolleson Lumber (USA).
