Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill signed a contract with EBRD

Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill (CPM) signed a contract with EBRD to provide a Euro 10 million loan to the mill. The funds will be used for purchasing new equipment to expand production, implementation of EU standards and CO2 emissions reduction, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

At the beginning of 2019 the installation of shoe press for cardboard drying is planned, this will allow KCPM to reduce the use of steam, increase production volumes and improve the quality of coated cardboard.

This fall at tissue production new converters and packaging lines will be installed for the production of AFH tissue products under the trade name SoffiPrо – toilet paper, paper towels, couches and wipes for public places.

KCPM will upgrade waste paper processing equipment, the corresponding production cycle will be the first in the country to meet the principles of resource and energy efficiency in the EU.

The investments are expected to reduce the company’s annual CO2e emissions by up to 11,000 tonnes.
