Malaysia increased export of certified forest products by 60% to 30 382 cubic meters in 2005

Mar 16, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Malaysia exported 30 382 cubic meters of certified forest products in 2005, up 60% from 2004, ITTO reported. The products were MTCC-certified (Malaysian Timber Council) and included sawnwood, mouldings, laminated finger-jointed timber, plywood and garden furniture. Most of the exports were destined to the EU, notably to the Netherlands (64.4% of the exports), the UK (25%) and Belgium (6.4%).
