Martinsons inaugurated a new for cross-laminated timber (CLT) production line in Bygdsiljum, Sweden. The new line is making it possible to produce storey-high panels with a width of 3 metres, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

“This is an extremely timely investment, as timber construction has now achieved a breakthrough. CLT is in great demand, and this is helping Martinsons to take up a position at the very forefront of the sector,” says Björn Sprängare, Chairman of Martinsons’ Board of Directors.

The new production line will increase Martinsons’ capacity for construction elements to an impressive 22,000 cubic metres per year.
Until now, Martinsons has been manufacturing panels with a width of 1.2 metres, but with the new line in Bygdsiljum the company will also be able to offer storey-high panels with a width of 3 metres.

The Martinsons Group is one of Sweden’s largest producers of glulam and construction systems for apartment blocks, buildings and bridges in wood.
