Metsä Fibre and Aquaflow sign agreement on effluent treatment plant for bioproduct mill

Aug 28, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. Metsä Fibre Oy and Aquaflow Oy have signed an agreement on a biological effluent treatment plant for the Äänekoski bioproduct mill in Finland, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Aquaflow will provide the bioproduct mill with a modern effluent treatment plant that is based on a multistage biological treatment process and further chemical treatment. The multistage process makes the plant less sensitive to disruptions and improves its treatment results.

Modern treatment technology will enable the bioproduct mill to operate in accordance with the environmental permit limit for the current Äänekoski pulp mill, and in compliance with its wastewater permit, even though the pulp production volume will almost triple.
