Mar 26, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Finnish State Forest, Metsähallitus acquires enterprise resource planning system from Savcor Forest Oy. The system is called Ohjas. The new system replaces old ones and brings forestry operations to a new level. The project starts immediately and Ohjas-project will be finalized in December 2015, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

“The main goal is to run and strengthen forestry business operations with only one system,” said director of forestry Heikki Savolainen from Metsähallitus.

Ohjas includes functions to plan, operate and report processes in wood trade, harvesting, bioenergy and silviculture. Operative financial transactions are also covered by Ohjas. Furterhermore, the system acts as a link in between Metsähallitus and the entrepreneurs.

Savcor has been long term partner with Metsähallitus. Ohjas contract is signifigant because of its magnitude. The contract includes helpdesk and maintenance of the system.

Metsähallitus is a government enterprise whose tasks are divided into business activities and primarily budget-funded public administration duties. Metsähallitus manages about a third of Finland’s commercial forests.
