The association represents Canada’s wood, pulp and paper producers nationally and internationally in government, trade and environmental affairs, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. As a member of FPAC, Millar Western becomes a signatory to the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement (CBFA), an unprecedented agreement among FPAC member companies and nine leading environmental organizations, struck to conserve areas of Canada’s vast boreal forest and protect habitat for species including woodland caribou. In this and all areas of its FPAC involvement, Millar Western will work with the association, and in cooperation with governments and other resource users and stakeholders, to ensure sustainable management of forest resources and protection of forest values for the benefit of all.
