Nippon Paper Industries to increase prices for its chipboard, color board, core paperboard, paste board products, etc. by minimum 10 yen/kg, effective September 1, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
These products have been facing a difficult earnings condition because of rising prices of a number of raw materials and fuels since the second half of last year.
The Company has been promoting thorough cost reductions, but the current price level is lower than the revenue level where reproducible profit can be secured through its independent efforts alone. Therefore, the Company decided the revision of the product prices.
