Nippon Paper Papylia obtains ISO 22000 food safety management system certification at Kochi Mill in Japan

Nippon Paper Papylia has obtained ISO 22000 certification, an international standard for food safety management systems, at the Kochi Mill in Japan, which produces high value-added specialty paper, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The Kochi Mill is a long-standing paper mill that commenced its operation in 1886 in Ino-cho, along the clear Niyodo River. This town is renowned for traditional Japanese paper. Even today, it produces high value-added paper products for special applications from a variety of fiber materials.

In terms of quality management, the mill obtained ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system in 1997, and ISO 14001 certification for the environmental management system in 1999, based on its long-nurtured technical capabilities. The Kochi Mill has enhanced its systems and worked to achieve reduced environmental impact and high quality.
