“This portion of the State of South Carolina has historically been underserved by not have a material recovery facility located in Rock Hill,” said Myles Cohen, President of Pratt Recycling. “Now Rock Hill businesses and residents, as well as those in surrounding municipalities can have access to a recycling facility close to their own community.

“This is not only good for local businesses and residents but also for the environment because it will take trucks off the road, saving fuel and reducing emissions, while also creating jobs in South Carolina.”

The paper sorted on site – Pratt’s third recycling facility in South Carolina – will be used as fibre for the company’s mill at its Conyers eco-campus.

At capacity, the plant will produce 150 tons a day of recyclables, including 100 tons of paper and old corrugated container. In addition the facility will also handle a variety of metals and plastics.
