Slovenia’s total fuel consumption in forestry enterprises in 2013 was about 5.1 million litres (gasoline and diesel), or about 8% less than in the previous year. Of this, the share of fuel consumption for felling, harvesting and production of forest wood categories was about 41% (2.1 million litres).

Sep 22, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. Slovenia’s total fuel consumption in forestry enterprises in 2013 was about 5.1 million litres (gasoline and diesel), or about 8% less than in the previous year. Of this, the share of fuel consumption for felling, harvesting and production of forest wood categories was about 41% (2.1 million litres), as the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

In total fuel consumption the share of fuel used for timber transport by roads was the largest, about 45%. A smaller share of consumed fuel was used for the cultivation of forests and the construction and maintenance of forest roads, and for transport by car for production needs.

According to the survey on machinery and energy consumption in the forestry activity in 2013, the forestry enterprises used about 508 forestry tractors adapted to work in the forest, of this the share of wheeled tractors was the highest (about 67%).

The number of trucks with forestry upgrade and loading equipment decreased by about 2% over 2012. The number of other machinery and equipment decreased by about 7%.
