Value of Slovenia’s output of the forestry industry, which equals to the total value of forestry goods output and forestry services output, increased by almost 5% in 2013 compared to 2012 (it reached Euro 383 million). Value of forestry goods output (Euro 357 million in 2013) was higher mainly due to the higher values of the production of sawlogs and fuelwood.

Slovenia’s forestry production increased by almost 5% in 2013

Value of Slovenia’s output of the forestry industry, which equals to the total value of forestry goods output and forestry services output, increased by almost 5% in 2013 compared to 2012 (it reached Euro 383 million). Value of forestry goods output (Euro 357 million in 2013) was higher mainly due to the higher values of the production of sawlogs and fuelwood. Standing timber contributed the largest share in the total value of forestry goods output, i.e. 48% in the same year. Forestry services contributed almost 7% of the total output of the forestry industry, as the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Gross value added at current prices, which was influenced by, in comparison with 2012 higher output and comparable intermediate consumption, increased by 8% in 2013 in comparison with the previous year and reached Euro 249 million. Intermediate consumption stayed at approximately the same level in comparison with the year before and it amounted to Euro 135 million in 2013.

Factor income, which also includes subsidies on production, increased by 9% in 2013 in comparison with the previous year and reached Euro 215 million. The value of subsidies on production slightly declined.

Operating surplus i.e. mixed income in current prices amounted to Euro 184 million in 2013. Employment in forestry, which is, due to the seasonal work, expressed in annual work units (AWU), varied since 2000. In 2013 it amounted to 5818 AWU, which is 9% more than in the previous year.
