Slovenia’s roundwood exports increased by 17% in 2013

Sep 30, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. In 2013 Slovenia exported about 1.5 million cubic meters of roundwood, 17% more than in 2012. The structure of exports was dominated by industrial roundwood, with a 77% share (approximately 1.2 million cubic meters); the share of wood fuel exports was 23% (approximately 351,000 cubic meters), as Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Compared to the previous year, in 2013 the exports of pulpwood and other industrial roundwood increased the most (by about 45%). The exports of sawlogs and veneer logs increased by about 3% and of wood fuel by about 19%.

In 2013 about 574,000 cubic meters of roundwood were imported or about 25% more than in 2012. The structure of imports was dominated by industrial roundwood, with a 57% share (about 327,000 cubic meters); the share of wood fuel imports was 43% (approximately 247,000 cubic meters). Compared to the previous year, in 2013 the imports of sawlogs and veneer logs increased the most (by about 96%).

The imports of pulpwood and other industrial roundwood increased by almost 55%, while the imports of wood fuel decreased by about 4% over the previous year.
