Springer Maschinenfabrik AG to install new trimmer system for Södra Timber Värö

May 15, 2013. /Lesprom Network/. In summer 2013, Södra Timber Värö will invest in one of Springer Maschinenfabrik AG’s sorting line for sawn timber. A complete trimming unit equipped with an automatic Microtec measurement system in the board sorting line will be installed; the existing automatic stickering machine will be adapted. Thanks to this modification Södra Timber Varö will be able to handle standardized package sizes, which is an advantage not only for intermediate storage but also for logistics, as Springer said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.

“We will achieve higher board sorting capacities and increase flexibility because we will be able to work on more lines to sort centre boards”, says Håkan Svensson, CEO of Södra Timber, in a mailing.

The trimmer in sawn timber sorting avoids needless drying of wood parts that are cut off later, anyway. Of course, this measure will also contribute to reducing the company’s energy consumption.

“The trimmer with automatic measurement system in sawn timber sorting is a simple and cost-effective solution for the sorting of boards after seasoning”, explains Håkan Svensson.

Springer Maschinenfabrik AG will be the main contractor and Microtec will supply the automatic measurement system.
