Stark Group’s Norwegian business, Neumann Bygg, has officially opened the doors to its state-of-the-art BREEAM-certified branch in Kristiansand, continuing its expansion.

Neumann Bygg cements its position in the southern part of Norway with a state-of-the-art store, its second opening within six months. The company plans further expansions, including new stores in Stavanger in April and Slemmestad, near Oslo, in May.

The new branch in Kristiansand covers 9,000 square meters and includes, among other things, a showroom and a timber yard of 3,500 square meters with an 8-meter-wide driveway. This design ensures that professional tradespeople have easy and efficient access to building materials.

The building is BREEAM-NOR v6.0 certified and has achieved a “Very Good” rating, placing it in the top quartile of environmentally friendly new buildings in Norway. BREEAM’s assessment process evaluated the building’s procurement, design, construction, and operation in relation to sustainability benchmarks in areas such as energy, materials, and waste.

Although the certification process is still ongoing, significant progress has already been made in areas such as energy efficiency, indoor and outdoor environment, water management, and environmental management. The building has features such as solar panels, district heating, sustainable material choices, and a working environment optimised for light and air quality. Waste sorting throughout the construction period exceeded 90%, and outdoor lighting is designed to minimise the impact on local wildlife by preventing light spillage beyond the site.

Stark Group is a leading business-to-business merchant and distributor of heavy building materials for the construction industry in Europe.
