Dec 01, 2015. /Lesprom Network/. UPM Plywood has completed the employee negotiations at Jyväskylä plywood mill in Finland. As a result of the negotiations 23 production vacancies will become redundant. In addition, 3 vacancies in mill cleaning will be outsourced and moved to another employer. At the start of the negotiations the redundancies were estimated at about 30 persons, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The decided redundancies will gradually take place during the winter and spring. Eleven persons losing their jobs have the opportunity to be included in a pension scheme. The mill's personnel after the reductions will be about 200 persons, of which, about 150 work in production.

UPM Jyväskylä plywood mill manufactures standard uncoated and coated plywood products and special products. The mill manufactures also the thermo-formable UPM Grada wood material.
