Voith Paper supplies new tissue machine to Productos Familia SCA in Colombia

Productos Familia SCA, the largest Colombian tissue paper manufacturer, has once again selected Voith Paper to increase its production of tissue paper and, in result, to extend its participation in the high-quality toilet paper segment. The new TM 7 was installed in the Cajica plant, Colombia, as the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network. With the successful start-up of this project, occurred in the second semester of 2012, Productos Familia SCA will increase its production of tissue paper in approx. 40,000 t/year. The machine is designed for a speed of 2,000 m/min, with 3,460 mm paper width at the reel. Voith was responsible for the supply of the tissue machine with basic and detail engineering, dust extraction system and high-performance hood from Voith Air Systems, designed for reduction of gas consumption; approach flow, vacuum system, complete automation with MCS, DCS and scanner (QCS); installation supervision, commissioning and start-up. According to Eduardo Gabriel, Project Manager from Voith Paper, it is great to be able to install a new machine that is running efficiently since its start-up. “This shows the commitment of our company to offer high quality technologies and services to our customers. Our support was also very important when the project was put on hold between 2009 and 2010,” states the Project Manager. Productos Familia is a family owned company that belongs by 50 % to Sweden based SCA group. It is a leading supplier of tissue products in Columbia.
