Dec 01, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. SFK Pulp Fund announced that, as a result of difficult pulp market conditions throughout the industry, it will curtail production at its Saint-Félicien Mill during the upcoming Holiday Season. Curtailment is planned to begin on or about December 19, 2008 and should last approximately 20 days, thereby removing approximately 20,000 metric tonnes from Saint-Félicien's production. "This curtailment reflects the declining pulp demand we are facing as our customers continue to be affected by the economic slowdown worldwide. This proactive measure is intended to prudently manage both our inventory levels and working capital going into 2009 and to adjust our production to customer orders," said Pierre Gabriel Côté, SFK Pulp's President and CEO. SFK Pulp, a leading producer and marketer of premium virgin and recycled kraft pulp, operates three mills in Saint-Félicien, Québec, Fairmont, West Virginia, and Menominee, Michigan.
