Berlin, 1906: In order to produce his own furniture designs, Wilhelm Altendorf built a machine saw on which the workpiece is guided over the saw blade on a sliding table. Over the course of the following century "the Altendorf" became a legend, and the company became the world market leader for sliding table saws. Today over 300 people work for Altendorf in countries all around the world. Every year 4,500 sliding table saws leave its factories in Minden, Germany, Qinhuangdao, China and Blumenau, Brazil, on their way to international customers working with wood, metal and plastics.
