American Forest Management sells 11,774 acres of Texas timberland

American Forest Management (AFM) announces the sale of approx. 11,774 acres of Texas timberland. The property, known as Lusk Timberlands, was sold via a sealed bid. Located in Montgomery and San Jacinto Counties, northeast of Houston, is one of the few remaining contiguous blocks of land this size near the Houston metro area.

The buyer intends to continue to manage the property for timber production. Eric Gage, Real Estate Broker in AFM’s Lufkin, Texas, office, represented the seller in the transaction.

“This transaction represented a unique opportunity for the purchaser to acquire one of the last large parcels of land within Houston’s growth path. We were pleased to play a role in the process,” said Chris Singleton, AFM’s Manager of Disposition Services.

American Forest Management is a national land management and real estate brokerage firm.
