Buckeye Technologies Inc. announced the promotion of Mr. Christian Chavassieu to Senior Vice President

Feb 08, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Buckeye Technologies Inc. (NYSE:BKI) announced the promotion of Mr. Christian Chavassieu to Senior Vice President, Wood Cellulose, effective April 1, 2005. Mr. Chavassieu, who previously served as the Company's Vice President, Specialty Wood Cellulose Sales, will succeed Mr. R. Howard Cannon, who is leaving the Company to pursue other interests. Mr. Chavassieu is a graduate of the Institut Superieur de Gestion in Paris, France and received an MBA at Columbia University. He began his career with Buckeye in 1996 after serving in senior management positions with Dowell Schlumberger and Apple Computer. He was elected a Company Vice President in 1998. Buckeye Chairman David B. Ferraro commented, "Howard Cannon has made a strong contribution to Buckeye's business over the past five years, and he will be missed. We are fortunate to have Christian Chavassieu, who is an experienced business leader and intimately familiar with our wood cellulose operations, available to succeed him. We are also very pleased that Howard Cannon has agreed to remain on the Company's Board of Directors."
