From January to August, China's national real estate development investment was 9,080.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4%; among them, the residential investment was 6,887.8 billion yuan, down 6.9%, according to National Bureau of Statistics of China.

From January to August 2022, the housing construction area of real estate development enterprises was 8,686.49 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 4.5%.
Among them, the residential construction area was 6,136.04 million square meters, down 4.8%. The newly started area of houses was 850.62 million square meters, down 37.2%.
Among them, the newly started residential area was 624.14 million square meters, down 38.1%. The completed area of houses was 368.61 million square meters, down 21.1%. Among them, the completed residential area was 267.37 million square meters, down 20.8%.
Sales of Commercial Buildings
From January to August 2022, the sales area of commercial housing was 878.9 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 23%, of which the residential sales area decreased by 26.8%. The sales of commercial housing were 8,587 billion yuan, down 27.9%, of which residential sales decreased by 30.3%.

At the end of August, the area of commercial housing for sale was 546.05 million square meters, a year-on-year increase of 8%. Among them, the residential area for sale increased by 15.1%.
