Deckorators, a division of UFP Industries, has acquired the remaining operating assets of MoistureShield decking, including manufacturing facilities, product brands and proprietary CoolDeck technology. The Arkansas facility brings expertise in traditional composite decking to complement Deckorators' existing Surestone technology platform.
The acquisition positions Deckorators to double its wood plastic composite manufacturing capacity to $200 million by 2027, according to Landon Tarvin, President of UFP Retail Solutions. The combined organization plans to expand product offerings across the outdoor living category, which continues to see strong demand from homeowners investing in outdoor spaces.
"We expect that with both this investment and additional capital investments at this location, we will have the ability to double Deckorators' overall capacity of WPC to a total of $200 million by 2027," Tarvin stated.
The purchase includes CoolDeck composite decking technology, which is designed to reduce heat absorption compared to standard composite decking.
