Expera Specialty Solutions announces BRC certification achievement

Expera Specialty Solutions has achieved BRC Global Standard – Packaging and Packaging Materials Issue 5 High Hygiene Certification at the two of its four paper mills manufacturing the largest portion of Expera’s Food Packaging and Processing product offerings. The facilities are the first paper mills in North America to achieve this high hygiene level of food safety certification, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The BRC High Hygiene standard provides the most rigorous framework to manage product safety, integrity, legality and quality, and the operational controls in the packaging and packaging materials industry. This certification assures brand owners, food packagers, and manufacturers that Expera’s products can be used globally to meet the requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

Russ Wanke, CEO of Expera stated, “The Expera team puts the highest focus on safety and quality. Achieving BRC Certification is just another way for us to demonstrate this exceptional focus to our customers and the marketplace.”

Certification of all Expera mills is expected before the end of 2018.
