Japan’s average wholesale price for Japanese cedar lumber rises to $490 per m3 in February 2026 from $485 per m3 in January and $481 per m3 in February 2025, while Japanese cypress rises to $609 per m3 from $608 per m3 in January and $607 per m3 a year earlier, based on figures released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.
Japanese cedar stud lumber rises to $537 per m3 in February from $536 per m3 in January and $519 per m3 in February 2025. Softwood plywood holds at $9 per sheet in February, unchanged from January and from February 2025. The prices are converted to U.S. dollars using the Japanese yen–U.S. dollar spot rate published by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
