Kronospan investing in new state-of-the-art production line producing OSB in Riga
Nov 30, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. In summer 2005 Kronospan Holding Ltd. has acquired Bolderaja plant in Riga (Latvia). At present Kronospan is investing in new state-of-the-art production line with annual productive capacity of 500 000 cubic meters of OSB, Kronospan Russia press-service reported. Investments volume is not disclosed.
OSB production in Riga will be similar to successfully operating production at Kronospan site in Iglava, Czech Republic. German Dieffenbacher GmbH+Co.KG, producer of pressing equipment, will supply extruding machine with length of 53 meters and width of 2.5 meters.
Termination of project realization is scheduled on summer 2007.
80% of production will be exported. Target market is Russian Federation.
It’s expected that Bolderaja will become one of mega-sites of Kronospan, processing more than 1.2 million cubic meters of wood per annum.
