The Madison’s Lumber Prices Index increased by 2% to $496 per thousand board feet (mfbm) for the week ending 23 January 2026. This marks an $8 gain from the previous week's price of $488, according to the weekly price data from Madison's.

Compared to one month ago, the index has risen 14%, representing a $62 increase from the $434 level recorded in late December. The index is calculated using a weighted average of species including Western and Eastern Spruce-Pine-Fir, Douglas fir, and Hem-Fir, based on North American production volumes.
