Russian Tractor Plants company intends to invest RUR 196 million in the development of Onezhsky in 2004-2005

Russian Tractor Plants (Traktornye Zavody), Karelia Republic, intend to invest RUR 196 million in the development of Onezhsky tractor plant, corporate spokesperson reported. The investments will be directed to the organization of tractor production on the 2nd industrial site of Onezhsky. The site was built 20 years ago and has not been used ever since. Onezhsky intends to develop agricultural tractors and wheeled machines production on the site. Onezhsky tractor plant is a major regional tractor manufacturer (timber-felling, timber industry, specialized tractors and tractors for other related purposes). Onezhsky majority stake has been owned by Tractor Plants company since 2004. Tractor Plants non-profit partnership comprises: Promtraktor, Vladimirsky tractor plant, Lipetsky tractor plant, Cheboksarsky machines and engines plant, Onezhsky tractor plant, State science and research tractor mill, Ryazan harvester plant, Lidselmask, Tracom (Kishinev tractor plant).
