Swedwood Tihvin Company to Invest 10 million euro in Third-Term Construction of a Furniture Mill

Oct 27, 2003. /Lesprom Network/ Swedwood Tihvin (Leningrad region, affiliated to IKEA company, Sweden) will start furniture production of plywood on its plant, regional government public affairs said. The investments will reach 10 million euro; the mill will employ 325 workers. Annual turnover of the Tihvin mill will make 27 million euro, according to preliminary estimation. The third-term construction is due to company’s activity annual results. Presently Swedwood production is ranged from timber-felling to the production of furniture parts exported to Sweden, Poland and Finland for final furniture assembly. Basically the mill deals with pine and birch, spruce and aspen production is in project. 675 employees work in the 3 shops of the mill. Swedwood international industrial group was founded in 1991. The company comprises furniture, furniture boards production and sawmills. Presently Swedwood international industrial group comprises 36 enterprises operating in 12 countries.
