TimberWest Forest Corp. announces Bev Park appointed President and COO of Couverdon Real Estate
Mar 24, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. TimberWest Forest Corp. announced the appointment of Bev Park as the President and COO of Couverdon, the real estate business unit of TimberWest. Bev will also continue in her role as CFO of TimberWest while leading Couverdon, as the company informed Lesprom Network.
"The appointment of Bev as President of Couverdon is another indication of just how important the real estate business is to our company," said Paul McElligott, President and CEO of TimberWest and CEO of Couverdon. "Her strong leadership and outstanding business reputation will help ensure Couverdon takes best advantage of the opportunities presented by our landholdings on Vancouver Island."
"I am very excited about taking on the leadership opportunity at Couverdon," said Ms. Park. "We have outstanding land on Vancouver Island and a great team in place working on it. They put us in a great position to realize our goal of working with communities and partners to create perpetual value - for the people who live, work and relax on Vancouver Island; and those who invest in our lands, developments and company. Over the next few months, I look forward to getting out and meeting the many people on the Island who will be so important to our joint success."
TimberWest recently renamed its real estate business Couverdon Real Estate. This was done in recognition of the fact that the real estate business is different from the company's forestry operations and to provide clarity for customers of both parts of the business. The choice of Couverdon - derived from the city in the Netherlands where the ancestors of Captain George Vancouver originally came from - emphasizes the business' deep roots and clear focus on Vancouver Island.
TimberWest Forest Corp. is uniquely positioned as western Canada's largest private timber and land management company. The Company owns in fee simple approximately 322 thousand hectares or 796 thousand acres of private land and is in the business of selling timber products and real estate.
