UFP Industries has acquired the operating assets of John Rock, Inc., a pallet manufacturer headquartered in Coatesville, Pa., from Kamps Pallets for approximately $48 million, and will integrate the business into its PalletOne network. The purchase covers three operating locations, Coatesville, Pa., Mifflintown, Pa., and Bowling Green, Va., and adds approximately $82 million in annual sales and nearly 250 employees, based on figures released by UFP Industries.

John Rock is a subsidiary of Kamps Pallets, and the Dilwyn, Va., sawmill is not included in the transaction and will remain with the seller.

Kamps acquired John Rock in January 2023, with John Rock described at the time as employing 300 people across five facilities.

In 2016, Rock Wood Products of Dillwyn, Inc., a John Rock-related entity formed in 2014, announced an $8.75 million investment to expand its sawmill in Buckingham County, Va., and said the site would supply lumber to John Rock’s pallet manufacturing facility.
