Veneer Technologies has integrated a new high-capacity drum chipper at its veneer production facility in Newport, North Carolina to enhance its chipping operations, according to the technology supplier Bruks Siwertell.
The new DH-V 200/300 × 650 drum chipper replaced an existing unit from another manufacturer and was delivered fully shop-assembled in June 2025. It was configured to connect with the mill's existing motor. The installation included an infeed belt positioned in a pit and features a top infeed roller designed to compress fluffy or fibrous veneer material prior to chipping to ensure consistent feed and uniform chip size.
The chips produced will be used within Veneer Technologies' operations, which specializes in producing high-quality veneer products tailored to specialized customer requirements.
The new equipment was ordered to ensure high levels of operational reliability and to improve overall capacity and material flow. The company previously operated another Bruks veneer drum chipper that had been in service for over a decade.
