Valmet has initiated change negotiations regarding the planned closure of manufacturing at its Sundsvall site in Sweden, alongside proposed operational changes at its facilities in Gothenburg, Sweden, and Jelenia Góra, Poland. The plans, which affect up to 170 roles in Sundsvall, up to 55 roles in Gothenburg and up to 130 roles in Jelenia Góra, aim to support the long-term competitiveness of the company's Biomaterial Solutions and Services segment, according to Valmet.

The planned adjustments are part of the company's Global Supply unit's broader strategy to optimize its manufacturing network. Valmet targets Euro 100 million in cost efficiencies from procurement, logistics and production optimization by 2030. The company estimates the actions in Sweden and Poland would generate annual net cost savings of approximately Euro 20 million, with full run-rate achieved by early 2027.

Valmet stated it will discuss the proposed changes with employee representatives according to local legislation and practices.
