BSW Timber, a member of BSW Group, has underlined its commitment to setting industry standards by completing the International Organization for Standardization suite of certifications.

Having previously been awarded ISO 9001 in 2011, the UK’s leading sawmilling and timber business was awarded ISO 45001 and 14001.

ISO 45001 is credited to businesses who are serious about improving employee safety, reducing workplace risks and creating safer working conditions, while ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems (EMS).

BSW Group’s Quality and Certification Manager Bev Arthur said: “We are delighted that BSW Timber has achieved ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 to sit alongside ISO 9001. As a group we are committed to improving safety, quality and working conditions for our teams. It is testament to the hard work and ambitions of the senior management team at BSW Timber, which joins Tilhill Forestry and Scott Pallets in achieving all three ISO certifications.”

BSW Group members Tilhill and Scott Pallets also carry all three certifications, while BSW Timber Solutions and Maelor Forest Nurseries have both the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Dick Brothers is also working toward all three ISO accolades in line with Tilhill.

In September 2023, BSW Timber received international recognition for its commitment to health and safety by scooping a gold award at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Health and Safety Awards.

BSW Timber Ltd is the largest integrated timber and forestry business in the UK, and a member of Binderholz.
