Domain Timber Advisors completes 11 timberland transactions

Domain Capital Group, LLC, a comprehensive private investment management services firm, announced its subsidiary, Domain Timber Advisors, completed 11 total timberland sales in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia at an average bare land value of $1,429 per acre. The sales ranged from 56 to 603 acres, with an average size of more than 280 acres.

The transactions were in the upper coastal plains of Georgia and Virginia, the piedmont of South Carolina, and the highland rim of Tennessee. The tracts were a mixture of young, mid-rotation and mature loblolly pine plantations with scattered natural hardwood areas and wildlife openings in varying proportions across the sale areas. The variety of age classes and cover types makes the parcels attractive as multi-use properties. The buyers included individuals interested in acreage for private recreation and local land investment groups.

“We are excited about picking up where we left off in 2019,” said Joe Sanderson, managing director of natural resources at Domain Timber Advisors, LLC, a SEC-registered investment adviser. “As a result of COVID-19, we expect timber sales activity to slow in the second half of the year due to emerging bottlenecks in the forestry supply chain.”
