Germany's industrial output fell 0.4% in March, marking the first decline this year and signaling a fragile economic recovery, according to data from Destatis. This decrease contrasts with February's revised increase of 1.7%. Although the decline was smaller than the forecasted 0.7%, concerns persist as new factory orders also dropped by 0.4%.

Despite the monthly fall, the first quarter showed a more robust 1.0% growth in production, contributing to an estimated 0.2% GDP growth. Construction output experienced growth, buoyed by decreasing mortgage rates as the European Central Bank looks poised to reduce interest rates in the coming months.
