Highland Pallets announced plant upgrade plan

Highland Pallets announced plans for a significant upgrade to its wood fiber drying systems. The original equipment installed at the plant used drying technology that has not met the company's demands for optimal throughput. The company is in advanced stages of choosing industry leading vendors to install proven standardized equipment used at other large pallet manufacturers.

The installation process will take the balance of 2020 and the mill will maintain a reduced work force during this time until ramping to its full work force requirements.

“We have taken an important decision to ensure this facility is a long term, world class producer of sustainable fuel,” said Jeff Vanderpool, CEO at Highland Pallets, LLC. “The new high-performance drying technology and hammer mill systems will significantly improve production volumes, quality, reliability and ensure we remain in full compliance with our air permit obligations.”

Highland Pellets is committed to delivering the highest value wood pellets.
