In July, the average price for the U.S. exported hardwood lumber added 0.7% compared to the previous month at $694 per m3, according to Lesprom Analytics. This is 4.1% more than a year ago when it was $667, and 19.4% higher than $581 in pre-pandemic July 2019.

The U.S. exports of hardwood lumber dipped 1.1% year-on-year to 265 thousand m3 in July. The exports to China increased by 9.8% to 75 thousand m3, while those to Canada decreased by 5.3% to 47 thousand m3 and to Vietnam downed by 4.1% to 44 thousand m3.
